Established in 2015, the campus quickly grew to accumulate a student base of over 3,000, spread across five faculties (Engineering, IT, Technology, Business & Music).
Offering 25+ UGC recognized degree programmes, the campus is built on a strong academic team and superior infrastructure to provide students with a holistic university experience.
In 2022, we facilitated a management buy-out of SLTC from Sri Lanka Telecom PLC.
The consortium of investors, organized and managed by Tempest, was led by Associated Electricals Corporation Limited. Tempest Two, the SPV created to facilitate the acquisition, also injected Rs. 290 million in fresh equity into SLTC to support the growth plans of the campus.

We supported management in improving efficiencies, scaling up the business and providing oversight, checks and balances on behalf of the board and investors. Our work included:
- Facilitating an organization restructure by introducing experienced personnel to key senior management positions including, Vice Chancellor, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Strategy Officer to strengthen academic & business operations
- Collaborating with the Finance team to transform the budgeting process and closely track performance against the budget to minimize deviations and enhance overall financial stability
- Advising and assisting management to right-size the business and optimize resource utilization in line with the company’s strategic objectives
- Conducting monthly reviews of cashflow, debtors and borrowing levels to enhance working capital and cash management practices.
- Closely tracking performance by providing detailed analysis and advice on monthly management accounts to enable timely decision making and corrective actions
- Helped reconstruct a healthier balance sheet by advising and procuring the necessary equity infusions to support the company’s growth and operations.
